When something happens in the world, we hear it on Spotify.

Music drives culture, as millions of people amplify their moments with their favorite songs, artists, and playlists. Spotify’s dataset reflects these cultural trends, as we see streaming spikes around significant events and moments. From the streaming bump that artists get around festival season to the echo we see after sporting events and award shows, our data validates the connection our fans have with music as it relates to the world around them.

Culture Compass is an interactive digital tool that visually showcases how fans experience cultural moments on Spotify, and offers guidance for brands to reach them in those moments. Culture Compass is designed to inspire media planners, buyers and strategists through rich data stories and creative thought-starters. The goal is to help brands understand how to best own and plan for the top moments on the Spotify platform.
